**About our exciting opportunity**

The principle role of the Quantity Surveyor (QS) is to manage the costs relating to engineering projects across all the CBL build projects and schemes being completed in the Build arena.

The role shall require the QS to provide commercial support from birth of projects to project closure. The quantity surveyors shall seek to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money whilst ensuring that the project meets all legal andquality assurance requirements and regulations.
- Complete field site walks outs with our Build Partners and internal Build teams to validate all claims and invoicing
- Work with our Build Partners to quantify and validate all financial claims and invoicing
- First point of contact in QS cost management in support of the Area Build Managers and PMs
- Responsible for review cost estimates/cost plans identifying levels of estimating uncertainty to allow effective setting, monitoring, forecasting and control of financial limits for projects.
- Review/approval or rejection of the contractor monthly Application for Payment.
- Agree allowance/disallowance of the Compensation Events with Build Partners.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports.
- Agree final account assessment.
- Update schedule cost data sets to achieve consistency, accuracy, and alignment and to enable the capture and subsequent use of outturn data.
- Complete cost and expenditure planning / benchmarking as required.
- Support management of budget and spend profiles continually identifying ways to improve cost performance.
- Carry out cost impact analysis of Change Requests.
- Input into monthly Supplier Performance meetings and information

**Your skills and experience**
- Degree qualified and has experience in working on infrastructure projects
- Ideally working towards MRICs or other commercial oriented professional accreditation.
- Experience in NEC3/NEC4 or forms of construction contracts
- Experience in managing QS contractors on project
- Understanding and experience of commercial estimating and benchmarking
