Pertemps Recruitment agency has partnered with a major London borough council, this council is looking for 3 Plasterer’s to join their team in London.
This is a full-time, permanent role - paying between £30,000 £33,000 per annum.
Your Role:

- Responsible for being part of a multi-disciplined works team within the housing repairs, responsible for delivering specialist plastering and rendering throughout the borough, ensuring health and safety compliance and best practice.To work in a professionaland flexible manner and carry out work in accordance with latest regulations.
- To carry out all types of plastering and rendering work both internally and externally, including door set installations and associated door furniture and maintenance, installation of signage and window repairs.

Responsibilities include:

- Carrying out initial inspections to agree scope of works, materials, and timelines.
- Discussing project plans with residents, supervisor, and planners.
- Examining and priming surfaces for plastering.
- Selecting the appropriate plastering materials for different sites.
- Protecting non-plastering surfaces with appropriate materials.
- Fixing and repairing previous plastering work when necessary.
- Reporting any structural issues to supervisor.
- Mixing and preparing mortar, plasters, and other finishes.
- Consulting with other contractors to ensure project deadlines are met timeously.
- Reading and understanding asbestos surveys.
- To carry out all types of repairs & maintenance works both internally and externally when required, including fencing, decorating, small maintenance tasks, demolition and alteration works and remedial works to complete projects to the customer or clientsatisfaction as directed by your line manager or other nominated designate.
- Undertake associated duties as agreed in the flexible working agreement to contribute to groups ‘one job one visit’ objective.
- Plan and organise work in an economical and effective manor, making the best use of your available time, plant, transport, and materials in accordance with specified company priority response times.
- To operate within a scheduled appointment system including liaison with customers, other team members to effectively undertake the works.
- Use all necessary plastering and rendering tools plant and equipment associated with the post and joinery duties undertaken.
- Manage materials as effectively as possible with regards to minimising waste, choice of specification and logistics.
- Undertake the supervision and training of apprentices, trainees or other employees as assigned to effective standards and specifications.
- Use a company issued PDA were provided to carry out the job role. e.g., receiving instructions, accurately completing works orders, general communications, and ordering materials.Where there is a requirement complete any necessary paperwork related tothe repair.
- Take ownership for each repair updating the customer with reasons when it is not possible to complete a repair.Refer to the call centre / supervisor agree arrangements with customer to complete the repair.
- To drive company vehicles in a careful professional manner and take care of your allocated vehicle by completing weekly inspections and weekly cleaning of vehicle, in accordance with all company procedures.
- Maintain and operate an agreed range of stock and equipment within the vehicle provided.

Key Requirements & Skills:

- Experience of delivering a wide range of plastering and rendering services
- A clean drivers licence (manual) with no more than 6 points on the licence
- Experience with reading and interpreting asbestos reports
- Ability to work to deadlines in a complex and fast-moving environment
- Able to demonstrate exercising good judgement in the workplace
