**TITLE**:Volunteer ESOL Tutor (Harrow)

**CONTRACT**:Volunteering

**EXPENSES**:£5 per Hour (Volunteer Expenses)

**HOURS PER WEEK**:Minimum 2 Hours

**LOCATION**:Harrow (West London)

**VOLUNTEER ROLE**:
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to volunteer their time as an ESOL Tutor to support adults with no or low levels of English to improve their English Language skills as well as their confidence.

The right person should be able to demonstrate that they have the ability or capability of teaching low level adult ESOL learners at Beginner/ Entry Level.

As part of your role you will be responsible for teaching an English Class at a local library in Harrow every Monday from 11am to 1pm to meet the needs of different ESOL learners.

This is an ideal role for someone who lives locally and is either recently qualified and/ or is looking to further their career within the adult education sector as an ESOL Tutor.

Expenses of £5 per hour will be paid to cover travel/ training/ subsistence etc.

If you are available to volunteer on Mondays for 3 months and can commit for at least 2 hours a week in the mornings from 11am to 1pm then please get in touch.
- We are a small community-based organisation which operates across West London. Our projects involve delivering basic IT skills, ESOL classes and Employment support activities to local disadvantaged individuals._

**VOLUNTEER SPECIFICATION**:
1. Be confident enough to lead and deliver learning activities to adults from the local community.

2. Have a good standard of spoken and written English.

3. Be willing to ‘have a go’ and adopt an approach to language learning which focusses on learning through fun and role-play.

4. Be keen to see a difference in your community in terms of integration and belonging.

5. Be able to commit to a regular time slot each week to deliver the programme.

6. Collect and return data regarding learner attendance from each session so we can monitor attendance.

7. Be able to attend 1 day of volunteer training in person and ½ day of online volunteer training.

8. Deliver or support ESOL learning activities and training appropriate to the learners’ level and abilities.

9. Respond to and adapt course material and delivery style to meet learners’ needs and welfare.

10. Be able to use a wide variety of resources to provide learners with a ‘rich’ learning experience.

11. Be willing to undertake any additional relevant training or attend any meetings as required.

12. Be committed to our equal opportunities and safeguarding policies.

13. Work within the organisation’s relevant policies and procedures.

14. Ensure that confidentiality and safety of all learners is maintained.
