**The Role**:
The post of Plant Fitter has responsibility for performing repairs, installation, and service duties as required, on or off-site (security clearance is required).

The post is primarily technical; including mechanical and welding work associated with the company’s activities. Health and safety responsibilities also form part of the role.

**General Duties**
- The central role will be to provide a professional on-site hose replacement service to Forth customers. This role will include being part of a 24hr “on call” rota with other Forth technicians.
- To carry out all work to client specification.
- To be fully aware of component compatibility and competent in the use and knowledge of our products.
- To be able to identify and use appropriate fittings for fitting to specified hoses, as per customer specification.
- To carry out assemblies using a variety of hoses for industrial and hydraulic purposes.
- To be able to perform low and high-pressure testing procedures.
- To understand the procedures involved when testing to higher pressures and its associated safety critical aspects.
- To be able to identify and use all types of hoses for the purpose specified by the customer order.
- To carry out all assembly techniques as per supplier or in-house procedures.
- To be familiar with all our supplied fittings and their use.
- To have the ability to operate all hose assembly machinery and equipment.
- To work overtime if requested to ensure our organisation or client deadlines are met.
- To actively promote Forth products and services to existing and prospective customers.
- To maintain the highest level of health and safety practice including the mandatory use of PPE equipment where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records relevant to call outs and any other operational activity.
- Day to day management of a mobile sales and service unit (MSSU) will include:

- Perform routine maintenance checks in accordance with the defect checklist
- Ensure the MSSU is kept clean and tidy inside and outside
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work on company vehicles in compliance with company procedures.
- The Company may, at its discretion require you to take any duties it considers appropriate to the role, this may include relocation to another site or division of the Company.

**CRITERIA SKILLS**

(Competence and Aptitudes)
- Excellent practical skills and demonstrable experience of safe ways of working.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups.
- Ability to manage systems that would underpin safe and efficient trade counter operations.
- An ability to undertake complex work in a planned and systematic manner.

**PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE**
- Experience working as a Plant Fitter is essential

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Knowledge of High-Pressure pumps and diesel systems
- Knowledge of using Hydraulics

**QUALIFICATIONS**

(Educational and Vocational)
- A recognised Apprenticeship in Engineering (essential)
