XEIAD are the largest UK provider of inspecting the UK infrastructure, with clients including Network Rail and National Highways. Due to significant growth over the past two years we are seeking an HR Advisor to join our small friendly HR team based in our Head Office in Ilkeston.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will work alongside the HR team providing support to both managers and employees throughout the organisation. The role carries a variety of activities from recruiting to onboarding, employee relations and learning and development. The role will evolve as the company continues with rapid growth.

We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude and a passion for problem solving with the ability to take the initiative to manage a variety of work in a changing environment. As a team player you will be an empathetic, confident communicator and able to form, build relationships and engage with employees across all levels of the business. Having previous experience in learning and development and Payroll would be desirable.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the relationship with the lead Recruitment Agency and all recruitment activities from job advertisements through to onboarding.
- Provide first line generalist HR advice and support on terms and conditions of employment, HR policies and procedures, with a view to resolving matters on advice.
- Manage operational caseloads, supporting managers with investigations and at hearings for sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and bullying and harassment cases.
- Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals.
- Arrange and attend informal/formal meetings with managers, providing notes and follow up actions.
- Maintain systems and processes such as recruitment and case management trackers.
- Commission, interpret and convey management information from HR systems/HR Systems team to Faculties/Services in a timely and accurate way.
- Provide advice and guidance on recruitment and employee engagement advising on best practice.
- Support the HR team with admin support on organisational change including; restructures/redundancy, within the business as required.
- Provide admin support to the HR Manager as required, and attend meetings as required.
- Contribute to the review and development of HR policies and procedures in accordance with employment legislation.
- Support HR manager with learning and development

**Essential Qualifications and Skills**
- CIPD Level 5 People Management or working towards
- 2 years experience in working in a HR Generalist role
- UK Driving license
- Maintains CPD plans and records for own levels of competency
- Knowledge of Employment Law
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
- Previous experience within a civil engineering sector would be highly desirable
- Presentation and Interview Skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
