**Required Experience**:

- You will be a confident and engaging communicator with a flexible approach to ensure that visitors can share your enthusiasm and knowledge.
- To hold a relevant degree, vocational or equivalent qualification
- A sound knowledge of UK flora and fauna.
- Practical Skills and Experience in estate maintenance, nature reserves or similar green spaces.
- A sound background in countryside management machinery and equipment.

**About the role**:

- The Beaver & Wildlife Ranger will report to the Estates Lead and work in collaboration with the Visitor Experience Team to deliver commercial visitor experiences.
- They will assist with the day-to-day operation of the Estates heritage landscape. This will involve practical work, leading volunteer tasks, planning, species and habitat monitoring, liaising with visitors and the local community, and leading visitor engagement activities.
- The Beaver & Wildlife Ranger will engage people in the management of the site, increase their awareness and understanding of what it offers, why it is special, and how it is managed. Support corporate communication and marketing activities. Attend external meetings, give presentations and help with events as required.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team in the production of articles and reports of Trentham’s work for publications such as internal and external newsletters, reports, and with other communications activities including website and social media.
- Your work will see you conducting tours on land and water including on our Electric catamaran cruise boat, motorised and non-powered watercraft to monitor wildlife activity and support conservation work.
- Plan, co-ordinate and deliver public engagement activities relating to biodiversity through wildlife tours, talks, workshops and events.
- Act as the on-site expert on ecology and biodiversity initiatives, supported by the Head of Biodiversity, Estates Lead and in conjunction with Wildlife Management contractors, advisors and consultants.
- Develop and lead on volunteer engagement for reintroduction & conservation programmes such as Water Voles, Beavers and bird and bat nesting.
