**1. Purpose of Job**:
Transport Services manages the maintenance and repair of the council's vehicle
fleet/plant/equipment, in accordance with legal regulations, lease company's and
manufactures' standards and targets. The Transport Administrator role is to
support the Office Manager by managing Transport Services administration
function and ensure all administrative processes in respect to the Transport
Service are carried out effectively to meet the services obligations, in a timely
and cost effective manner.

**2. Key accountabilities**:
To assist in the delivery of an efficient and effective Transport Services administration
relating to the provision of fleet maintenance and Transport services, together with P&L and
operational service delivery accountabilities for these activities. To assist in supporting of
solutions that will enable the compliance with the council's operators' license, appropriate
legislation, council's policies and performance standards.
2.1 Provide effective support to the Environmental Services Manager Transport (ESM-T).
2.2 To assist in the provision of the Transport Service administration and Transport
financial, administrative and IT operational support.
2.3 Assist the Fleet and Passenger Management team in liaising with service users,
contractor and clients; raise works orders, schedule and plan work streams and assist
stake holders. Assist in developing an effective management control system in all
areas of transport services.
2.4 To ensure accurate and timely filing of completed work requests and associated
documentation.
2.5 To assist in the processing and monitoring of job cards, work instructions and
contractors job sheets, updating Chevin Fleetwave with relevant vehicle repair and
payments data.

**skills**
- Demonstrable experience of operating computer and manual basedadministrative systems including Excel, Word and Outlook to an advance standard.
- Ability to use a PC effectively and accurately. Basic keyboard skills, formatting of documents, production of spread sheets, reports, minutes, To assist in departmental performance, regulatory and budgetary monitoring, etc.
- Ability to learn new software packages quickly and thoroughly.
- A working knowledge of Chevin Fleetwave IT system (desirable).
- Project Management Experience in transport services management or operating within a team in a transport/vehicle maintenance environment.
