Who are we looking for?

Job Profile

You will be helping to create a safe, nurturing and caring learning environment in which children and young people can enhance their academic and personal development. You will support with personalised learning activities in school, off site and through remote learning as timetabled to allow children and young people to develop their full potential. The teaching assistant will be critical within the team as you will work with teachers to support small groups or pupils on a one
- to one basis helping students to regulate their emotions and to engage in lessons and other activities. The teaching assistant will be required to deliver educational interventions, and to contribute to the development and monitoring of learning and behaviour support plans.

**The ideal teaching assistant will**:
Have good interpersonal skills and will be able interact with and communicate confidently with staff and students and other stakeholders
Have knowledge of the curriculum and some knowledge of local alternative provisions that will extend the school curriculum offer
Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
The teaching assistant will have a positive, can do, attitude.
Ability to manage your time and workload effectively.
Sound understanding of Safeguarding practice and procedures.
Have GCSE standard, or equivalent, of Maths and English

In addition, it is essential that you understand safeguarding practice and procedure and are able to maintain confidential information in line with GDPR.

Experience

1 Experience as a Teaching assistant (desirable but not essential).
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
