Applications are invited for a substantive Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with an interest in Colposcopy. Applicants should have established skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The post holder will be required to participate in 1:12 On-call (non-resident) commitments, cover a 1:14 labour ward hot week and contribute to emergency gynaecology cover. There will be weekly colposcopy clinics with corresponding admin time along with a fortnightly gynaecology theatre undertaking procedures matched to your skills. The case mix will also allow you to maintain competency in skills required to participate in the out of hours gynaecology rota.
The post holder will provide outstanding colposcopy care and contribute to the development of the colposcopy department and wider women’s health team
The post attracts 10 PAs (8.5 DCC, 1.5 SPAs)
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, and St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping.
We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
The post holder will have a genuine interest in colposcopy and a passion for driving up obstetrics and gynaecology standards. They will need to work closely with our transformation team to deliver changes and lead us on our journey to an outstanding department.
