We are seeking a Shift Electrician to ensure that all the equipment operates at their optimum. Provide an electrical maintenance service to the production team. Look for ways to continually improve efficiency and the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment,working to set targets/objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

- To investigate and repair electrical breakdowns and malfunctions. Electrician will be required to work on any production or plant equipment and be capable of diagnosing the causes of a wide range of malfunctions.
- To carry out planned maintenance on all site electrical equipment working to a planned maintenance & inspection schedules, inclusive of thermal imaging.
- Maintaining and updating all maintenance documentation, which will include PC, based systems.
- To keep the working areas clean and tidy, cleaning up after each maintenance operation, including tool boxes and work bench areas.
- Develop continuous improvement ideas and implement them.
- To assist technical staff with development work.
- To carry out miscellaneous maintenance and repair work on request to factory priorities.
- To carry out project work on new equipment and plant.
- To provide on-the-job training to inexperienced or new personnel.
- To investigate and correct processing problems with the assistance of the shift operating personnel, and other specialist personnel, if necessary.
- To complete “Maintenance Orders” and “shift log sheets” giving information about work completed and root cause of problems.
- Undertake the writing and updating of risk assessments and SOP’s to ensure hi safety standards
- To communicate to the incoming personnel/manager on any work which is outstanding and needs to be completed or may cause problems during the shift. This communication should include any health and safety issues.
- Be a pro-active team member to help ensure best production results are achieved.
- Rebuilding of spare assemblies to ensure critical spares to be always made available for focused areas.
- Withdrawal and correct booking of spare items from engineering stores.
- Receive skills transfer from other team members.
- If a team member is unavailable assist in that area.
- To stand in for the shift technicians to cover holiday or absence.
- To assist with the moving of plant or equipment under supervision.
- To work on other sites within Gosport.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Accountable for the mechanical and electrical safety of equipment repaired, maintained and serviced.
- Accountable for the standard of repair and refurbishment.
- Accountable for the quality of work.
- Responsible for supplying own suitable for electrical works tool kit and maintaining it in good condition; test meters will be company supplied.

Essential Experience:

- Previous experience in a FMCG environment.
- Experience of High Volume Manufacturing.
- Experience of associated Factory Plant Equipment.
- Expereince of plant services.
- PLC experience.
- Robotics.
- 17th Edition.
- Use of PC based recording systems.
- Shift pattern is to work 7 days out of 14
