Transport Supervisor

As Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for the management of logistics and the day to day running of the Transport operation at our Kirkcaldy site and ensuring the fleet is maintained to our O-licence requirements. The role includes planning and allocation of loads and ensuring that the right products are sent to the right customers at the right time. Working 40h per week Monday to Friday, with some occasional travel to other sites to ensure a full understanding of the overall operation.
The main duties of the role include:
- Overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Transport operation on site.
- Control spend against budget in conjunction with the Transport Operations Manager.
- Ensuring the operation meets its performance and safety targets, monitoring it and reporting to Senior Management.
- Lead by example and promote positivity and professionalism throughout your team.
- Oversee planning and fleet utilisation to ensure customer requirements are met and orders fulfilled. Allocating resource to planned requirements ensuring effective equipment utilisation.
- Work closely with the Fleet Compliance Manager to ensure high standards of vehicle presentation are maintained.

Essential:
- Experience working in a similar role.
- CPC National Certificate
- Excellent decision making and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly excel.
- Flexible, can-do approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong motivational, team building and leadership skills.
- Driven to succeed and seek out areas for continuous improvement.
Desirable:
- IOSH or similar H&S Certificate.
- Experience of working with a unionised workforce.
- Bulk tanker experience.
- LGV C+E licence
