**GAP Homeline**, in Aberdare is offering several apprenticeships within our engineering departments, throughout your apprenticeship you will be trained in electrical and mechanical industrial maintenance and installation. You will be taught and developed by some of the best in the business, gaining first-hand knowledge whilst working as an integral part of the team. You will be given practical hands-on experience from day one. The position will provide you with a broad engineering background, from repairs and maintain site plant and machinery. Due to the nature of the role, every day will present a different challenge and boredom will never be an issue.

**Future prospects**:
The position is offered for the duration of four years, the successful apprentice will be provided with training and development during this period. This will include study for a level 3 Apprenticeship in electrical engineering Technology. The learner will be released to Neath Port Talbot college one day a week to complete their technical certificate, along with completing a level 3 NVQ in the workplace.

**Typical tasks you will be undertake and be trained in may include**:

- Investigate, repair and maintain many types of electrical equipment
- To undertake continuous improvement projects to raise equipment performance, standards, and eliminate breakdowns, improve performance quality and safety.
- Support to develop and implement planned maintenance system (both planned and preventative on key equipment)
- Maintain equipment to a high level of reliability
- Recording and logging equipment issues using in house systems
- To maintain high engineering standards on site.
- Minimum of 4 GSCE’s, including Maths and English (grade A-C).
- Good literacy and numeracy are both essential
- It is essential that you can work well in a team and possess good communication / interpersonal skills.
- We will expect a professional attitude to work and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £9.36 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
