Directorate: Children and Young People's Services
Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.
We are offering an exciting rare opportunity for the right individual to join our Children and Young People’s Leadership Team. This is a high-profile post providing leadership and management to our well-established Safeguarding and Quality Assurance service.
We are looking for someone that passionately champions children and young people, with energy and confidence to drive high expectations. You will share our ambition to have services that ensure outstanding outcomes for children and young people in Rotherham and a commitment to contributing to delivering ‘good’ children’s and young people’s services.
In this post you will play a significant role in ensuring our Council’s vision for children and young people to be “resilient, safe and successful” is achieved both operationally and strategically. The Safeguarding service provide the foundations upon which we collaborate with key stakeholders, external and internal partners, and providers to deliver the best possible services improving outcomes for our children, young people and families.
You will have responsibility for the effective and efficient operation and delivery of several services which have a direct impact on partnership working, review and quality assurance, performance, learning and workforce, and wider supportive and complimentary services including voice and participation and therapeutic support. You will have responsibility for delivering high level advice and guidance, in verbal and report writing formats, which significantly influences, either directly or indirectly, the trust and confidence of internal colleagues, the external partnership, workforce and the Council.
You will have extensive experience at a senior leader level and bring proven experience of consistent achievement in the public sector. You will have substantial experience of working in a statutory children’s services environment, including recent experience of managing several teams. You will have sound knowledge and a significant understanding of current and emerging legislative frameworks and government policy agendas in respect of this field of work and an ability to lead in this area. You will need exceptional interpersonal skills, a passion for quality and the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships, within the service and with internal and external partners.
This role supports the Council to meet its statutory sufficiency duties, secure positive outcomes for children, young people and families and offer value for money.
