Junior Pastry Cook

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Pastry Cook / Baker to work within our newly refurbished Restaurant and Patisserie here at our Blackdown Garden Centre.

As the Pastry Cook / Baker, your role will be varied as each day is different. You will be making a number of fresh patisserie and cakes from scratch using high quality ingredients. Items include Eclairs, Cheesecakes, Roulades, Fruit Mousses, Scones, a variety of Traybakes and Sponge products.

Previous experience in a similar high volume, fast paced environment is useful but not essential as company training is provided. We would also like you to have some knowledge in the above pastry products. The successful Chef must be self-motivated, quality driven and keen to learn and develop.

Salary will be dependent of experience, but you can expect your role to be varied and rewarding. There are great opportunities to develop and progress your career.

**Hours of work will be based on a 40 hour week working 5 days out of 7, day shift only and no splits.**

Roles & Responsibilities:

- To help in delivering a consistent product of a high standard for the pastry department
- To provide our customers with exceptional customer service
- To assist kitchen in controlling stock, minimising wastage and working within the budget provided for the department
