We are looking to recruit a permanent Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, to join the existing team of 4 permanent Consultants, working split site providing resident plastic surgical major trauma cover in the MTC from 08:00 - 20:00, Monday to Friday and the major trauma reconstructive service in Morriston Hospital.

There will also be the opportunity to undertake elective practice and participate in the plastic surgery on call rota in Swansea Bay Health Board.

This post will be part of a team of 25 plastic and reconstructive surgeons serving a population of around 2.3 million and providing a wide spectrum of surgery. The Welsh Centre for Burns & Plastic Surgery has a wide remit and we are able to offer nearly all services in Swansea ranging from congenital deformity, cancer management, burns, trauma and infections.

The following sub specialty areas are key priorities for development within the service:

- Skin Cancer
- Paediatric surgery
- Laser service
- Complex hand surgery
- Head and Neck surgery

You will be part of a team of 5 permanent MTC Consultant posts providing a plastic and reconstructive service to the South Wales population as part of the development of the MTC service model. They will also work alongside the well-established plastics team in Morriston Hospital, Swansea, providing plastic and reconstructive surgery services to the population of South Wales.
