An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen within a well-established innovative organisation in the Beccles area for a Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician. The organisation hires out equipment to clients all over the world, therefore this rolewould involve travelling worldwide to operate and maintain the systems as part of the field crew.
Salary £30,000pa depending on experience, estimated OTE £50,000pa with additional payments for nights away and 28 days annual leave.
The Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician ensures that all geophysical, seismic, and geotechnical equipment, and electrical /electronic controllers on mechanical equipment is kept in a fully serviceable condition at the site that they are assigned to.
The Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician is to ensure that all spare assemblies are tested upon commencement of the role, when spare parts are delivered and periodically through the project.
In addition, as required, onshore at HQ in Beccles supporting and directed by the Technical Services Manager. As part of those duties the Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician adheres to the following requirements:

- The Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician mobilises, demobilises and operates the geophysical, seismic and geotechnical equipment, including recorders, streamers, positioning and levelling systems, CPT's, vibrocorers, energy sources and mechanical controllers,meeting field project requirements.
- During mobilisations, the Geotechnical & Geophysical Field Technician is to ensure that all equipment is installed with due regard for adequate air circulation, vibration isolation and sea fastening prior to final testing and the sailing of the vessel.
- Familiarisation and adherence to all statutory legislation and Company Policies pertaining to HSE, including the wearing of PPE.
- Maintaining the working area at all times in a clean and safe condition.
- Reviewing certifications on winches, lifting and electrical / electronic equipment for compliance against statutory legislation and Company Procedures.
- Assisting with winch operations and loading and unloading of equipment when needed.
- Participating in all toolbox talks, emergency drills and safety meetings.
- Completion of risk assessments relating to any equipment deployment, testing, operation, and recovery.
- Completion of equipment pre-use checklist and observers logs.
You will be required to have the following essential skills & attributes as a Geotechnical & Geo Physical Field Technician;
- HNC or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electronics/ Mechanics or Hydraulics.
- Undertake and pass Medical & Survival training.
- Passports must have a minimum of 1 year validity, and four empty pages
- Innovative & knowledgeable
- Experience delivering a rapid response service
- Experience in client facing role
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Well presented
- Driving Licence
