1.0 OVERVIEW

The position of Team Lead is a key player at TransPerfect Translations. Team Leads manage two or more individuals. The Team Lead position is designed to provide support to Project Coordinators/Project Managers and is the first step on a management-oriented career path. Team Leads will work closely with their manager to drive bigger picture initiatives and make sure all projects are running smoothly. Team Leads are ultimately responsible for the quality of work, profitability and personnel decisions related to their direct reports, with the guidance of their direct supervisor.

2.0 DESCRIPTION- Ensure that all personnel reporting to them are trained in and perform all of their required duties- Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct reports twice a month, with the supervision of the manager- Work directly with reports to ensure effective execution of all projects on a micro-level- Execute projects personally for sample jobs and/or VIP clients- Assist manager with providing information to Linguistic Resource Coordination department on resource requirements- Train to be able to generate quotes/approve non-standard budgets for potential projects for Sales team- Assist with departmental negotiations/preferred pricing agreements with top vendors on an ongoing basis, as required-
- Consult/liaise with manager on ideal project workflow on a case-by-case basis, as required- Troubleshoot any and all issues that arise- Work with manager to help generate ideas for improvement on a team level- Attend client meetings to help generate business, as required- File compliance reports as needed to document issues and drive improvement- Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

3.0 REQUIRED SKILLS- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English- Ability to effectively multitask in order to simultaneously execute multiple projects- Exceptional problem solving/critical thinking skills- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines- Ability to maintain professionalism, focus and result-orientation under pressure and tight deadlines- 80% on either Phase 1 or 1.2 Final-Eye tests, the second score must be a minimum of 70%- 80% on Phase 2 Final-Eye test- Excellent leadership skills

4.0 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent- Substantial experience in Project Management

5.0 DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Prior translation industry experience- Fluency in a foreign language
