**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To assist the Centre Manager in the delivery of a high quality customer service, through achieving/retaining Aquamark accreditation and helping to maintain Quest registration.
- Ensure the learn to swim and class programme and all its sessions run at a direct profit in relation to staff costs versus income taken.
- Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to the sessions running. Personally covering the required lessons for planned and unplanned leave and ensuring that all rotas in relationship to the learn to swim programme and gymnastics programmes are covered at all times.
- To deliver effective line management through the Staff Review & Development process, programmed and documented one to one meetings and teacher observations.
- To ensure the Health and Safety procedures are followed according to halo policy making sure all instruction staff are fully briefed and trained in line with the corporate and site specific training plans.
- To actively promote, market, recruit and retain custom to halo through the effective use of retention monitoring.
- To liaise closely with the General Manager and Management Team to ensure effective communications and development within the service is achieved.
- To be responsible for the planning of structured coaching and instructed sessions as appropriate to the participants.
- To ensure that the activity reflects within each session progressive development towards defined goals set within the National Plan for Teaching Swimming for each level of ability.
- To instruct or coach as outlined through training courses, circulars and information supplied, by the appropriate National Governing Body, Association or Organisation.
**Main Purpose of Job**:
- Under the direction of the General Manager to co-ordinate the day to day operation of the learn to swim programme.

- Ensuring the safe supervision of the public and staff within approved guidelines.
- To monitor, evaluate and where required improve the performance of the learn to swim and class programme.
- To assist the General Manager in delivering a high quality, customer orientated service, profitably.
**Job Activities**:
- Effectively communicate all halo matters to staff and management.
- Maintain staff rotas ensuring all activities, sickness and holidays are covered cost effectively.
- Allocate schedules of work to all swimming instructor staff under your supervision to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Assess and observe appropriate learn to swim and class programmes as agreed with the Centre Manager.
- Ensure all customers receive a quality service and continually receive appropriate advice / feedback on safe swimming principles.
- Actively increase the Big membership through effective marketing and promotion.
- Ensure every effort is made to retain customers through offering a continually improving, friendly and imaginative service.
- To be responsible that all sessions/activities take place in a safe environment with due regard to Health and Safety recommendations.
- As requested to demonstrate knowledge of all centres accident, incident and emergency procedures.
- To carry out administration tasks (associated with swimming).
- Ensure the National Plan for Teaching Swimming is delivered completely by all instructors, through effective line management, teacher observations and performance monitoring.
- To ensure that the Centre and Organisation retain Aquamark registration at the time of each re-assessment.
- To strive to achieve the set targets within the swimming lesson development strategy.
- To effectively monitor the learn to swim and class programme, through measuring against financial and usage figures and performance indicators.
