An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, friendly and enthusiastic individual to work as a Facilities Supervisor covering Receipts and Distribution, Materials Management and Stores within Facilities (Central).

The Facilities Supervisor will support the Facilities Coordinator in the delivery of efficient and effective operational services provided by the Stores Department within the locality.

In conjunction with peers, co-ordinate and organise day to day activities of the operational staff within the Stores Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Working hours are predominately Monday to Friday 8:00 to 16:00 but weekend and Bank Holidays may be required occasionally as could adjusted working hours.

Based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd but may be required to travel to other sites in the BCUHB Central Area.

This post holder is a key member of the Facilities team and will be required to provide support in the development of service improvements and assist with or undertake specific tasks/projects as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Work in the Stores Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner at all levels of staff both internally and externally, selecting the most practical and efficient method of communication.

Place stock and non-stock orders and receipt deliveries as required ensuring stock control procedures are followed.

Ensure stock is rotated and that minimum and maximum stock levels are observed at all times.

Use barcode scanning equipment to maintain control of stock.

Use Materials Management systems and ensure all staff in Stores are fully conversant with the current system.

Unload vehicles in a safe manner, unpack and check items against delivery notes and order information, ensuring accuracy and reporting any discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with mandatory training is maintained by all staff within the Stores Department and undertake staff appraisals (PADR). Assess any training or development requirements highlighted during the PADR’s and report to the Facilities Coordinator.

Participate in the local induction of new staff members and record accordingly.

Assist in all elements of management of staff within Stores, e.g. sickness absence, recruitment, booking annual leave, etc. and use the appropriate system to record staff information.

Regularly use computer software including Excel Spreadsheets and ensure all records are accurate, up to date and comply with the Data Protection Act.
