**Job title**: Offender Supervisor

**Location**: HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottingham

**Salary**: Between £22,684 and £24,195 per annum

**Working hours**:Full-time, 40 hours per week

HMP Lowdham Grange is a category B training prison situated in Nottingham, operated by Serco*. Lowdham Grange houses adult male offenders aged 21 and over with sentences over four years and with at least 12 months to serve. It has a maximum capacity of 920.

The key purpose of this role is to lead the management and assessment of low to medium risk prisoners and be required to prepare, implement, review and evaluate their sentence plans. The successful post holder will be required to build effective, appropriate and supportive relationships with prisoners with the aim of reducing reoffending. They will provide support to Probation Offender Managers in the case management of high-risk prisoners and co-work cases to undertake a range of offender management tasks.

As a Offender Supervisor you will be required to interview prisoners within required timeframes of their arrival. You will coach, motivate and support prisoners to engage in education, employment and interventions in line with the sentence plan targets. You will also complete reports for the purpose of parole and attend oral hearings.

Some of your key accountabilities will include:

- Use the Offender Assessment System (OASys) to identify and manage risk
- Lead sentence planning meetings to prepare and review
- Complete re-categorisation reviews for prisoners
- Complete all paperwork for cases including lifer and specific paperwork in line with relevant policies

**What you need to do the job**

You should have GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above).

You will have experience in planning and co-ordinating. You should have with the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with prisoners, professionals and external agencies.
