Communications and Relationships Effectively manage and coordinate the operational and business aspects of multiple diagnostic services. Ability to work across a complex, changing & multi-disciplinary environment. Be responsible for ensuring effective communication to provide robust working relationships and clear communication channels with all service users both internal and external to the Trust. To ensure a high level of proactive engagement with the Trusts care groups and corporate services.

This will include regular attendance at forums/meetings as appropriate. Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders and managing conflicting priorities Build key relationships, manage stakeholders, and maintain networks internally and externally to ensure the delivery of core projects. Communicate complex information relating to specialist services to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing their decision-making when appropriate using tact and diplomacy. Key Relationships This role requires effective communication and working relationships with staff both internal and external to the departments and Trust.

New & existing employees Operational Leads Consultant and medical teams Care Group and Corporate Management Teams Regional Medical Physics External stakeholders Analytical and Judgement Skills Analyse business intelligence and information to support the narrative included in the Care Group and Trust Integrated Performance Report, addressing issues and escalating appropriately. Ensure related data returns, such as the DM01 or benchmarking submissions, are accurate and reflect current service position, consistent with the guidance for completion Ensure the services delivered meet national and local standards and performance targets and waiting times, interpreting complex data in to meaningful information to ensure all necessary action is taken to comply with standards whilst not compromising the quality of services. Assess and balance activity between aspects of the service using information resources to ensure that the performance in all elements of the service is taken into consideration to meet current KPIs Oversight of capacity and demand of services, developing mitigating actions such as alternative workforce and new service models to ensure patients access to diagnostic services is aligned to Trust standards Planning and Organisational Skills Effective planning over medium and short-term working within areas of uncertainty, ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources and early identification of risks. Support the management and recruitment of medical staff/alternate senior roles with a diagnostic workload, working collaboratively with other service leads where job plans are spread across portfolios e.g.

Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, taking account of working time directive and educational requirements Manage the collection and use of information, ensuring that patient activity is captured accurately and in a timely manner Ability to adapt and problem solve as required to ensure smooth running and balance of service priorities Ability to co-ordinate reports to appropriate committees/groups Utilise admin support appropriately to effectively manage workload and time ensuring skills, knowledge and experience are deployed to achieve the greatest benefit to service delivery and patient care Respond to FOI requests within the required statutory time frames Organise diary and commitments to allow capacity for Tactical on call shifts including attending OPEL bed meetings, ratifying minutes and sitreps as well as working with operational services to support daily processes and management of issues arising Physical Skills Standard keyboard skills Patient/Client care Ensure compliance with the patient safety, H&S and risk management policies and monitor within service areas. Provide an excellent, safe environment for staff, patients and visitors ensuring that all staff comply with current legislation relating to all aspects of health and safety. Ensure safe and effective services for the population served. Participate in the Tactical on call rota as required to support site safety, management oversight and incident management.

Ensure a safe, effective, efficient and professional diagnostic imaging service, with adherence to all relevant quality and safety standards, eg IR(M)ER 2000, JAG, BSE and Trust policies. Utilising complex and detailed information from a variety of sources both within and external to the department to evidence compliance with relevant standards. Be responsible for the assessment and management of risks within the work area, taking action where necessary and identifying training or resource needs to ensure that all service procedures comply with clinical governance requirements. Manage the process for dealing with patient complaints, claims and event reporting within the work environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant trust policies and procedures (
