MEP have been operating as a fisheries and aquaculture consultancy since 1977. Our work is truly international with projects across the globe as well as closer to home. Since its inception, the company has worked with public and private organisations alike providing expert advice and managing projects related to the sustainable development of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

In 2023, we have expanded our services to include consultancy solutions related to:

- Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG);
- Green House Gases Emissions;
- Traceability;
- Supply Chain Mapping and Solutions development;
- Private Sustainability Programs Development.

In doing so, we help our clients (currently in the pharmaceutical, health care and food sectors) achieve their sustainability goals with strategies focused on each business using the most appropriate tools for the needs and phases of each company.

Our small team of consultants and business support is comprised of people with a passion for sustainability. We are friendly, supportive, enthusiastic, ambitious and committed. Our work is varied and, we think, interesting and exciting. Clock watching does not feature in our working week.

We are currently seeking an energetic and reliable Accounts and

Your general responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

- Assist with maintaining and communicating company policies and procedures
- Assist with staff management, such as monitoring expenses and leave and risk assessments
- Assisting with recruitment of staff and onboarding new starters
- Financial data entry and other basic management accounting activities such as completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations; invoice preparation; preparing and entering journals into the system
- Assisting with production of operational and financial reports
- Providing cover for essential accounting tasks while the Finance Manager is on leave
- Improving and maintaining record and data management systems
- Ordering stock and materials
- Managing small office maintenance activities
- Co-ordination of team and client related events and functions
- General communication support (answer and screen telephone calls alongside all members of the team, make and record appointments, draft letters, minute taking, attend meetings, both in office and other locations where required)
- Provide support for travel bookings
- Registration on procurement systems and maintenance of company profiles.

**Experience and attributes**:

- 3-5 years of experience in fast paced administrative roles, preferably in both accounting and business management.
- Management accounts experience
- Data and information entry and management.
- Good at building strong relationships internally and externally - friendly and communicative
- An interest in global sustainability development and environmental protection
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
- Extremely organized and high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexible - willing to get involved with varied tasks as needed
- Proactive nature, ready to think outside the box to seek solutions to problems
- Team player - ability to work with a remote team across the world
- Fluent English
- Other languages desirable, but not essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
