**Role responsibilities**

As Route Controller you will be responsible for the provision of rolling stock in accordance with the requirements of the timetable. This will include but not be limited to:

- Coordination of the delivery of the train fleet to depots and other agreed locations for maintenance, exam and repair to agreed timescales.
- Management of unit defects/failures in traffic and coordinating the response of fitting staff in liaison with maintenance controllers and depots etc.
- Arranging set swaps/replacement units as required and communicating with all parties involved.
- Real time monitoring of train running in designated area(s).

**_Essential requirements to be considered for this role: _**
- Proven knowledge of Railway operating procedures
- Ability to problem solve efficiently and work in a high-pressurised environment
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively influence and negotiate
- Whilst it is not essential, knowledge of Railway industry IT systems is desirable

**Welsh Language Skills**
