**Electrical Estimator**

Over the past twenty-five years we have delivered some of the region’s most exciting electrical projects and now, with a growing order book in both our Cardiff and Bristol offices, we are looking to find a talented and diligent Estimator to further strengthen us.

**Your Package will be**:

- Full time PAYE salaried position.
- Salary: competitive and negotiable based on experience.
- Bonus scheme: based on personal and company performance..
- 33 days per year holiday (inc bank hols).

**Our requirements of you**:

**What your Roles & Responsibilities will be**

The following list is not exhaustive of in respect of day-to-day duties that will change as needed to meet the needs of the business.
- Receive a tender from client, log tender in to system, set up file, job number, details into hub spot.
- Download into relevant folder / files separating specification, drawings into categories.
- Send all relevant information into suppliers / subcontractors to make them aware of scheme and necessary sections they need to tender, set return date for their tender in line with our requirements.
- Read fully the specification to understand the scheme, marking all items specific or unusual so these can be allowed for fully within the tender process.
- Review all drawings and notes on drawings for all aspects of information provided for the bid, not just the MEP. Information can be found on Architect and other layout details, so all drawings must be checked.
- We encourage all estimators to request further information from consultants/MEP Managers/Estimators/QS as required to fully understand the technical requirements of a scheme. Make sure all communications are logged for future reference. Establishing good relations with client team is key, making sure that they understand we have a good technical knowledge of the scheme through dialogue/communication.
- Commence building of tender, listing all relevant sections as detailed within the tender, as the tender summary detailed by the client, when all suppliers/ subcontractors return their costs input these into the tender, make sure all suppliers / subcontractors details are listed within the tender with date and reference for clear correlation from tender to quotes.
- Make sure that close communication between suppliers/subcontractors is maintained to ensure that supplier/subcontractors have fully complied with the tender documents/drawings/specification across all categories of information available within the tender documents provided.
- Take all quantities of equipment off drawings, for all disciplines, allowing the tender to be built, along with all supplier/subcontractor quantities to be checked, for all disciplines.
- Build tender in a detailed format as directed by the tender document or your line manager to ensure that we present the tender in the correct format for cost analysis for the client or internal purposes. Always remember to safe the document on a regular basis, to make sure data you input is not lost to any large extent, make sure this is being saved within correct file on server at all times.
- During the compilation of the tender, make sure all corresponding information is saved within the server section for the tender in question, within correct folders so that this can be referenced at a later date by estimating or project team.
- All tenders have to be reviewed internally prior to submission to a client, make sure a tender review date is established early within the tender process, with relevant line manger informed of the date for review. This review must be carried out as a minimum of at least two days before the client submission of tender date.
- Tender will be ready for review once all sections are complete, this will be designated by a yellow marker within the tender section, once reviewed a red marker will be placed under the yellow marker. All parties will be named within the tender for future reference.
- Once tender is deemed to be ready for submission the Precon Manager/Precon Director will be informed, to allow rates and margins to be confirmed.
- Tenders will be clearly laid out in specific company format, with all relevant drawings for the bid listed with revision and dates, any clarifications will be clearly detailed, with T&C’s detailed for the scheme.
- Throughout the tender process, you must work with the wider team on any technical aspects of the scope so that we submit a fully compliant bid.
- Once tender is reviewed and submitted within the correct submission format, you will make sure that the client has received the tender, discuss aspects of the tender with the client as required.
