We are looking for a business facing Data Analyst who has experience within financial services and cyber security to join a leading insurance company on an initial 12 Month contract. This person must be able to understand data before it goes through tooling.This position is a supported position, there will be support available and you won't be left on your own, however, deep data knowledge is important and the ability to liaise with stakeholders is essential.
Essential skills/ expertise
- Well versed in use and writing of SQL
- Excellent structured analysis skills.
- Able to trace through Informatica components, including Power Centre, Power Exchange (IMS and flatfile), Data Validation Option (DVO) and Metadata Manager.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling effective interaction with both IT and Business stakeholders.
- Organised and self-motivated.
Desirable
- Cyber/ security background.
**Responsibilities**:
- Drive data investigations exercises / analysis of complex data processing rules whilst work alongside developers/business SME's to support the assessment of impact on our data.
- Map and trace data from system to system (source to target) in order to solve/prove a given business or system problem relating to process, transformation, precision errors, anomalies or outliers.
- Draw conclusions from data investigations to understand suitability of data quality and appropriateness of data validation rules (data led development).
- Influence reconciliation and control activities rules, based on in-depth data analysis exercises.
- Present, write up, walk through and report on findings from data investigation exercises to projects / development team in a concise and structured manner.
- Work alongside test team to automate repeatable data analysis and regression (migration/transition) activities.
