We are looking for a Finance Manager to join Cancer Research UK, to lead on delivering, high quality and insightful reporting and financial planning for specified business areas. This role sits within our Finance Fundraising Business Partnering team, and in particular you will partner with - Partnerships & Philanthropy area which forms part of our Marketing Fundraising and Engagement directorate, which produce this largest income for the charity.

You will use your experience in financial modelling, analysis and reporting to balance financial risk and then advise and steer senior managers with important financial decisions.

This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with great stakeholder management and influencing skills. You might be a Finance Manager or Finance Business Partner already looking to gain experience in the not-for-profit sector, or potentially a Senior Analyst looking for your next step. Cancer Research UK is a large, complex organisation, with nearly 600 shops, an events team delivering 570 events a year, a large operational organisation of around 4,000 people, and a research organisation with five labourites, so there are lots of opportunities to progress and gain experience within various areas of finance, working across a variety of business areas.

Key Accountabilities:

- Own and deliver timely and insightful reporting for your specified business areas.
- Produce analysis that turns complex data into insight, understand the 'so what' and question Directors and Head on 'what's next?’. Help Directors and Heads to understand the financial impact of their initiatives and decisions on the Charity's financial plan
- Analyse trends and performance, feeding findings into forecasts and long-term financial planning
- Identify opportunities to drive change and improve the financial acumen of CRUK's decision makers
- Work with the other members of your finance team to guide on the financial planning (forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning) for your specific business areas
- Develop and provide complex income/expenditure modelling to support all financial planning (forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning) for specific business areas. Communicate clearly to enable the organisation to own and take responsibility for their plans.
- Consider development opportunities and internal moves across finance including considering appropriate succession planning
- Build and maintain a network of strong relationships with heads and Directors across CRUK to support implementation of the Finance Strategy.

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours:
- Qualified accountant (or by experience) with significant post-qualification experience- Ability to clearly present and explain complex financial information, turns data into insight, understands the 'so what' and has the confidence to challenge stakeholders on 'what's next?’- The ability to influence a range of stakeholders at all levels, to deliver strategic initiatives and build new opportunities- Significant experience of building, managing and evolving business partnering relationships at senior management level- Able to effectively communicate specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and management teams- Ability to work autonomously to deliver on complex assignments often involving ambiguity, can set and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations- Innovate, take a step back and question what you and the wider team are doing, strive for continuous improvement in processes, approach and outputs
