Decorating Foreman
We’re a family-run decorating business specialising in high-end residential homes. We work
across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. We provide services such as,
wallpaper installation, dust-free sanding and other traditional decorating works. We work
in partnership with estate agents, insurance companies and builders, providing interior
and exterior decorating works and property maintenance.
We are seeking an experienced decorating foreman who can organise a small team of
cleanliness and show the highest level of respect for clients' homes. If you're passionate
about delivering high-end craftsmanship, learning new techniques and creating beautiful
living spaces then we’d love you to apply.
This is a full-time role. The successful applicant will need to be available from 7.30am - 5pm
Monday - Friday. Part of the working week will be spent on management duties, including
job set-ups, organising materials to site, general management and snagging. The
remainder of the week will be spent will be spent on the tools - carrying out painting and
decorating work. Overtime/weekend work may be required from time-to-time.
**Responsibilities**:
Organising jobs from enquiry stage to completion stage (quoting experience not essential,
but will be taught over time).
Planning jobs for the team of decorators.
Maintain and organise painting equipment/tools and materials, including correct stock on
vans.
Perform painting and decorating tasks according to client specifications and industry
standards.
Keeping clients informed of job start dates and project progress.
Adhere to project timelines and ensure timely completion.
Advise clients on paint types and finishes.
Look after client homes and belongings by taking necessary precautions.
Build a rapport with clients to ensure they’re comfortable in their surroundings.
Quality control - ensuring all jobs are completed on time and to specification.
Non-Essential Requirements
Experience with construction industry job management software, e.g. Tradify, Job Logic,
Service M8, or similar.
Quoting experience.
Mentoring apprentices.
Must Have Requirements
Ability to manage a team of decorators, including raising issues with the standard
of work in an professional and constructive manner.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent time management abilities.
Valid driving license and reliable transportation.
Own tools and equipment.
Proven experience in residential painting and decorating (over 10 years).
CIS registered.
Full UK driving licence.
