Our Governance and Planning Team, within the Corporate Development Department, engage with area commands, internal departments, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and external bodies to deliver an effective governance and decision-making framework,which supports Northumbria Police to maintain high levels of performance and service delivery.

**What will I be doing?**

This is an exciting and challenging role, within a small team, responsible for providing governance and business planning advice and support to the Force, including senior leaders.
- Providing professional advice and updates on all aspects of corporate planning, governance, strategy, policy, organisational learning and risk management.
- Quickly building positive working relationships and liaising with business leads.
- Preparing, scrutinising and quality assuring reports for strategic meetings.
- Providing a secretariat service to meetings in line with our governance and decision-making framework.
- Analysing environmental and horizon scanning and published reports; summarising in a succinct manner to inform executive decision-making.

**What do I need?**
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Attention to detail - particularly in written communication
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Self-motivation and great work ethic
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for achieving deadlines
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Excel, Office)
