**Job Title**

Depot Supervisor

**Reports To**

Depot Manager

The Depot Supervisor is responsible for the day to day management and planning of the Launceston vehicles and drivers, creating efficient transport schedules for our customers and the wider DSSL network, while complying with legal responsibilities.

**Planning**
- Responsible for planning of vehicles and drivers.
- Liaise with Factory Planner, Sales, Warehouse and Despatch team to ensure vehicles are loaded efficiently and on time.
- Ensure OTIF is met and deliveries are carried out as per customer requirements.
- Optimise deliveries and collections to reduce empty mileage.
- Liaise with sub-contract hauliers to cover any additional requirements.

**Depot Admin**
- Support and cover the Depot Manager in their absence.
- Maintain PODs and enter jobs in the TMS system.
- Assemble weekly costings reports and invoices.
- Ordering of depot supplies and materials using SAP system.
- Site inductions.
- Supervise fuel deliveries.

**Driver Supervision**
- Brief and de-brief drivers on daily tasks.
- Liaise with drivers on the road over delivery and collection issues.
- Administration of Driver Timesheets.
- Manage driver holiday and absence.
- Arrange agency cover for holidays and sickness.
- Driver coaching using the drivecam system.
- Dealing with driver infringements.

**Vehicle Maintenance**
- Recording and sorting of vehicle defects.
- Ensure vehicles are inspected in line with maintenance schedule.
- Carry out daily trailer checks.
- Download vehicle tachographs.

**Health & Safety**
- Report serious matters concerning HSE to line manager or appropriate senior manager.
- Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard your own or others safety.
- Cooperate with managers on H&S matters.
- Work in accordance with SSOW.
- Hold monthly HS&E team meetings.
- Carry out and compile,
- Root cause investigations
- Site audits and report any issues.
- Process reviews.
- Safety observations.

**Salary**: From £32,000.00 per year
