**Position Overview**:We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Trainee Classic Car Trimmer. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in the art of classic car trimming, working with vintage and antique vehicles to restore and enhance their interiors. This position offers a unique chance to enter the field of automotive restoration and become an expert in classic car upholstery.

**Responsibilities**:
Learning and Skill Development:
Under the guidance of experienced classic car trimmers, you will undergo comprehensive training to understand the techniques, materials, and tools used in classic car trimming. This includes learning about fabric selection, pattern making, cutting, sewing, and fitting upholstery components.

Restoration and Customization:
Assist in the restoration and customization of classic car interiors, working on various components such as seats, door panels, headliners, carpets, and convertible tops. Learn how to dismantle, clean, repair, and reassemble these components with meticulous attention to detail.

Material and Inventory Management:
Gain knowledge about different types of materials used in classic car trimming, including fabrics, leathers, vinyl, and foam. Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering necessary supplies, and organizing the workshop to ensure efficient operations.

Quality Control:
Collaborate with senior trimmers to ensure that all work meets or exceeds established quality standards. Learn to inspect finished projects for flaws, ensure proper fitting, alignment, and adherence to design specifications.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Workplace Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Develop an understanding of best practices for handling chemicals, adhesives, and hazardous materials.

Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the team, including trimmers, upholsterers, and other craftsmen, to coordinate projects and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively to convey progress, challenges, and recommendations.

**Qualifications**:

- Basic understanding of automotive systems and components
- Passion for classic cars and interest in automotive restoration
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, bending, and lifting

**Salary**: £8.00 per hour
