**The Opportunity**:
The School of Social and Political Sciences is seeking a Research Assistant to work with a research team led by Dr Franziska Meinck in collaboration with University of Greenwich.

The post holder will work on an Office for National Statistics funded project to develop questionnaires and safeguarding procedures for a national prevalence study on child abuse in the UK.

This post, which will involve supporting the research team by conducting literature reviews, developing protocols and consent forms, transcribing and analysing qualitative data, with the possibility of supporting interviews. The post is UK-based and may require travel.

Our research group is committed to capacity-building and supporting team members to further their careers, and you will be supported to further your research portfolio, career portfolio and peer-reviewed publication outputs. The research team is also committed to improving outcomes for children in the UK, and this is our primary guiding aim.

This position is available as soon as possible for 13 months (to 31 st January 2024) as a full-time position (35 hrs p/w).

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Appropriate degree in the social or health sciences with relevant postgraduate research experience
- Experience in conducting qualitative data analysis and carrying out transcriptions
- Experience in working on topics related to violence against children
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills using every day Microsoft work packages
- Excellent interpersonal and online communication, presentation and writing skills in English **.**
