**Our Vacancy**

We are recruiting for a Technical Author to join our Engineering department at either our Westhill or Inchinnan office. As a Technical Author, you will generate, maintain and update user documentation including operating and maintenance manuals as well as internal engineering documentation and JFD publications. You will primarily support the JFD standard products range however this can also lead to supporting the wider engineering function.

**What you’ll be doing**
- The creation and revision of operating and maintenance manuals using Microsoft Word or Adobe FrameMaker and graphics software as available.
- To source technical content for inclusion in manuals by liaison with engineering, production, and external suppliers when necessary.
- Produce graphical content for inclusion in manuals by liaison with drafting staff and self-production using SW Composer and graphics software as available.
- Produce deliverables to client including printed matter, Adobe PDF and native formats.
- Adherence to and development of JFD documentation style.
- To file documentation generated within the Product Lifecycle Management System (PLM).
- Adherence to Engineering Change Control Process.

- Proven track record in technical writing.
- Significant document design and production skills.
- Highly skilled in generating and checking documentation and company publications.
- Highly skilled in the use of documentation packages such as Microsoft word and Adobe Framemaker.
- Skilled in the used of graphical packages such as Solidworks Composer.
- Knowledge of industry standards for documentation.
- Knowledge of current and soon to be released documentation packages and add-ons.
- Flexible for travel to local or overseas sites if required.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of technical packages.
- Technical writing qualification or equivalent industry experience.
