**Job Description
We are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to provide a highly specialised psychological therapy service to cancer patients and staff involved in patient care at HCA for an inpatient and outpatient setting.Primary site will be HCA at UCH.

**Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide a highly specialised psychological therapy service to cancer patients and staff involved in patient care.
- To assess the psychological needs of cancer patients and their families who request counselling or are referred by a healthcare professional.
- To provide a highly specialised psychology service for cancer patients at all stages of their cancer diagnosis.
- To continue to provide counselling and support for patients and families going through cancer and palliative care treatment.
- To offer highly specialised and comprehensive advice and consultation on the psychotherapeutic and psychological aspects of care to non-psychological colleagues and members of the MDT who are delivering medical care to patients and families.
- To provide clinical supervision for staff involved directly in the patient care.
- To provide teaching and educational programmes with regard to enhancing communication skills for nursing and other allied health professionals.
- To participate and collaborate in audit, policy and service development and planning.

**Skills and Experience
- High level of psychological assessment and intervention.
- Experience of working with cancer patients, having a basic understanding of cancer treatment advantageous however training will be provided.
- Ability to support palliative and end of life care.
- HCPC accredited.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
