As senior member of PHL reporting to the Director of Healthcare, this role is to provide a dynamic, inspiring, and energetic commercial leadership and direction to the Healthcare Division.

As Head of Commercial you will lead on the creation and development of new business relationships and innovative solutions to maintain customer satisfaction, and both maintain and advance PHL’s market position.

The role is accountable for all new business and formal tender/bidding activities ensuring involvement and support from the relevant service delivery/business unit team.

**Duties and Responsibilities of **Head of Commercial**
- Be fully accountable for ensuring the Healthcare Division delivers its new business targets.
- Work closely with the Head of Healthcare and Contract Managers to deliver 100% customer and contract retention across all services.
- Accountable for the delivery of the Healthcare Division annual operating plan and 5-year strategic plan working collaboratively with the Managing Director and Head of Healthcare.
- Lead the analysis, development and production of high quality and winning bids, proposals, and prospects.
- Leading on commercial negotiation and contract scope with new clients and supporting the Head of Operations with maintaining lasting relationships with existing clients
- Support mobilisation programmes ensuring smooth transition of new contracts entering and old contracts exiting PHL.
- Set up and lead a framework for the contract and operational management teams to meet, share best practice, undertake peer review, support, challenge and innovate.

**Experience and Qualifications of Head of Commercial**:

- Ability to identify new business opportunities, identify risks, develop solutions, and close opportunity to achieve a win.
- Sales and new business generation
- Demonstrable senior leadership and stakeholder management skills (both in a matrix and hierarchical environment and externally as well as internally) are paramount.
- Bid management experience,
- Experience of NHS healthcare market is desirable although not essential.
- Demonstrate ability to mobilise services, knowledge management and skill utilisation, using project management methods.
- Working across sites is essential and so full drivers’ licence and car is required.
- Educated to Masters level education in management and leadership or equivalent experience (desirable)
