Role: Cyber Security Engineer
Location: London/ Hybrid
Pay: £650 per day
**Job Summary**
The role of the Cyber Consultant is to support the CTP ICT Work stream by ensuring that the IT Opportunities comply with existing regulatory standards and CT Policies, with RMADs completed as appropriate.
**Key responsibilities**
- Work alongside CTOC Project Managers, technical architects and test team to ensure security controls, 'privacy by design and default' are embedded within design from concept through to delivery
- To review/assess/evidence security controls
- To focus on all security assurance related support tasks
- Maintain checks and balances and monitor in accordance with CTP policies and standards
- Achieve formal accreditation for selected ICT Opportunities
- Ensure proactive risk management and appropriate security consideration throughout the project lifecycle by connecting cyber security principles, processes, tools and techniques to achieve secure systems
- Provide specialist security advice to the CTOC projects where accreditation is not yet achieved but is being sought
- Work with CTPHQ Information and Assurance lead to ensure appropriate risk management accreditation documents reviewed and approved

**Skills/Qualifications**
- Experience of an Information Assurance (IA) role in a Public Sector Organisation
- Experience of identifying/managing Security Risks, Issues and Dependencies in new and evolving project area, including managing RMADS
- Clearly expressed knowledge of Data Protection legislation and ISO17025 management systems
- Hold a minimum of qualification relevant to the specialization i.e Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Experience of conducting technical security reviews, approvals of supplier and design and test documentation that is compliant with CT Policing Security policies
- Strong communication skills, experience with engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to produce high quality well-reasoned reports and written work

**Experience**
- Experience of working in the public sector and within a large programme delivery environment, with multiple projects and ideally within a national delivery context
- Experience of dealing with stakeholders across various levels of organisations and with differing levels of understanding and with differing needs

**Nice to Have Experience**
- An understanding and knowledge of CT Policing including (MPS), National (UK Force wide) and international responsibilities; including a clear understanding of CT Policing relationships to Government, security and intelligence agencies and legislative processincluding their governance arrangements is desirable
- Experience of cloud security
- Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISEC)
- Member of the British Computer Society
