Our Syston Plant is one of the most modern in the UK, allowing the production of dense and lightweight blocks in a range of sizes which are then distributed through builders’ merchants to customers throughout the country.

This is a full time position where your main responsibility will be to start up and run the plant on a daily basis including checking the quality of products.

**Key accountabilities**
- Daily operation of automated block machine and all other aspects of the block production process.
- Quality control checks including block height, weight, appearance and moisture control.
- Operating block machine on wet side, finger car and cuber on dry side.
- Daily machine checks.
- Undertake general maintenance of equipment ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Replace strapping on bander when required.
- Cleaning duties.
- Able to work individually or as part of a team.
- Assist with maintenance.
- Drive a grab truck and other mobile plant when cover is required, in accordance with yard procedure and training.
- Compliance with health & safety policies, risk assessments & procedures at all times.
- Carry out additional duties within your skill and competence.
- Compliance with GDPR at all times.

Block Plant competency training will be provided.

**Relevant qualifications or experience required**
- Grab truck licence - desirable
- Forklift licence - desirable
- Loading shovel licence - desirable
- Experience in manufacturing background -desirable
- Experience of working as a plant operative or similar role - desirable

**Salary**: Potential earnings of over £35,000 per annum

Time & a half after 8 hours per day, plus production bonus and double time at weekends.

Hours: Monday to Friday. Saturday mornings as required.

**Salary**: From £35,000.00 per year
