We are looking to recruit a Band 3, HSDU Decontamination Night Supervisor, to join our friendly and enthusiastic small team within our HSDU decontamination unit.

To undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.

To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, reassembly, packing, sterilization or high level disinfection of reusable medical devices.

Clean and maintain instruments to strict standards of decontamination in line with Unit Policy

To Record all processes in the track and trace database.

To deal with all levels of customer queries via; telephone and direct personal contact, including clinicians, nurses and other practitioners.

To provide supervision to Decontamination Technicians and provide support around training needs, appraisals and to ensure all staff carries out duties as per policies and procedures.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
1. To organise the efficient and effective operation of the day to day production processes by prioritising and delegating departments work load to staff under their supervision
2. To prepare goods and services for customers utilising all areas in department
3. Supervise departmental staff, altering rotas ensuring staffing levels relate to the workload
4. To assist with distribution of clean supplies to theatre, wards and other department
5. To ensure that all priority requests, and that all turnaround times and contractual deadlines are adhered t
6. To undertake operation of equipment e.g. Washers/Storage Cabinets and other relevant machinery and carry out routine tests in accordance with the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, Quality Standards and Guidance
7. Be receptive to training and developmen
8. To assist with stores handling and stock contro
9. Give support to senior departmental staf
10. To contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and comply with high quality standard
11. To monitor and control Production within H.S.D.U. DECONTAMINATION, ensuring that all priority requests and contractual turnaround times are adhered to
12. To comply with current systems for recording, collation, monitoring and feedback of appropriate informatio
13. To contribute to the development and performance review in accordance with Trust polic
14. Ensure Trust policy and correct procedures are adhered to, reporting any discrepancies to a senior staff membe
15. To assist with the training and development of staff within H.S.D.U. DECONTAMINATION
16. Delivery of appraisals to decontamination technicians in line with trust protocol
17. Use effective lines of communication throughout the department and with all users
18. To ensure that both the Trust and Departmental Values and Behaviours are adhered to at all times by all members of staf
19. To be responsible for gaining knowledge of equipment and its maintenance
