**2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT**

**Job Title: Cashier Dept**:Retail Banking

**Reports to: Manager, Retail Banking**

**Job Holder: Controlled Function**:No

**Job Purpose**:to provide a full cashiering service in accordance with the Bank’s Cash Procedures.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To ensure compliance with money laundering and KYC regulations in respect of cashiering transactions.
- Monitor relief cashiers to ensure the Bank’s procedures and guidelines are adhered to.
- Check all customer requests are completed fully and all relevant details needed to carry out requests are taken.
- Ensure that the day’s work is processed and the balancing of the till is agreed in time to meet the deadlines set by the limits imposed on the supporting back office. This will include advising the

Assistant Manager Cash before 4.30 pm that the total holdings are within the limits prescribed in the

Operations Manual.
- Obtain rates where necessary from the dealers.
- Ensure approval is obtained from the General Manager or Credit Department before taking accounts into an overdrawn position.
- Ensure that the Bank’s Money Laundering Guidelines and Procedures are strictly adhered to at all times.
- Respond to enquiries whether at the counter or by telephone and direct enquiries to the relevant person/department.
- Discuss with the Assistant Manager/Manager the cash float in the safe and advise if cash is required to be ordered.
- Check that all requests at the counter are fully completed so that they can be actioned by the back office. If they are not complete they will be returned to the Cashier in order for the Cashier to contact the customer for the required information.
- Collect and return cash till boxes back to the safe in the morning and at the close of business.
- **Other duties**:
Payments
- Prepare accounting entries for Swift payments and pass for checking.
- Prepare Swift payments (MT103 and MT202) and pass for checking.
- Prepare customer Standing Orders on due dates.
- HSBCnet - Bacs payments.
- Prepare and process Inward Clearings (Automated, Manual, BACS) and pass for checking.
- Prepare outward Sterling clearing for delivery to HSBC and pass for checking.
- Help prepare and input daily batches and pass for checking.
- Prepare and process customer foreign exchange transactions and pass for checking.
- Respond to phone enquiries.
- Work in close co-operation with the Account Opening Clerk.
- Carry out other duties as required or directed by Senior Management.

**Egyptian Help Desk**
- To assist the Egyptian helps Desk. These includes completion account opening forms,

Card activation, Online Banking and other NBE, Cairo products.

**Experience & Skills required**:

- 2 years’ relevant cashiering experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills including spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Good keyboard skills and, preferably, working knowledge of Equation, EBA and FS

Manager.
- Ability to diplomatically insist that proper documentation is received.
- Fluent in Arabic especially speaking and preferably also reading and writing.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
