If so, we have an opportunity for a Residential support worker (R.S.W.) to join our team at one of our children's semi-indpendant residential homes, to work as part of a team to support and maintain and caring and nurture which places the physical and well-being and safety of our children and young people at the very centre of what we do.

We provide vital services for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the country, therefore it is critical that we seek a caring, reliable, consistent, and resilient residential support worker for our children and young people.

We have a great team and are looking for caring, committed and enthusiastic individuals who will share the same passion for children and young people as we do.

As a Residential Support worker, you will need a passion for nurturing children and young people with the emphasis being on promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being, in addition to helping them with their social development. You will also be required to provide advice and advocate for our children and young people. We as an organisation are child focused and friendly in all aspects of service delivery, keeping the children at the heart of all our decision-making.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- To care, nurture and establish positive relationships with the children/young people, assessing needs and working collaboration in producing, implementing, delivering, and revising individual care plans.
- To organise and participate in activities for children and young people.
- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of aspirations. Working within the Children's Act 1989, Every Child Matters, and all other relevant legislation.
- Provide advice, assistance, and support on a 1:1 basis to enable the child to address past and present difficulties.
- To support with Domestic chores such as cooking, cleaning, general maintenance and promoting good hygiene within the home
- Providing emotional support at the time of difficulty or stress
- Attending young people's meetings and contributing to them
- Responsibility for the accurate maintenance of financial records
- Be a key worker to a young person.
- Empower young people and facilitate their active involvement in decision-making about their lives and future
- Support young people to achieve their goals and optimise their potential
- Provide support to young people with homework and extracurricular activities.
- Keep accurate records and provide written reports on young people for planning reviews meetings, meetings any other meetings as directed by the line manager
- Support young people to keep good hygiene and involve in the day-to-day routine of the home
- Support young to all health appointments and complete the relevant documents as needed

**Qualifications and skills**

Criteria
- Essential and Desirable
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with children and young people, preferably in a children's residential home, or equivalent settings - Desirable
- QCF Level 3 in Residential childcare or equivalent - Desirable
- A passion for working with children - Essential.
- An enhanced D.B.S check will be completed -Essential
- Full UK driving licence - Desirable.
- Applicants will need to be flexible to work as per the need of the home -Essential.

**This opportunity involves working every other weekend, including sleeping. Here is the rota everyone works to**:

**You must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to commit to your personal development, as follows**:
To complete all Care Certificate knowledge training required within 3 months of employment with Sportfit and to be willing to work towards a Diploma.

To identify and attend training requirements in line with Training policy.

work through online modules as set by the Company while on shifts when you can. Minimum requirement is 1 per month

To participate in monthly supervisions and annual appraisal in line with Sportfit policy.

Actively seek to develop own learning

To complete reflective accounts following all training

To undertake qualification required for the role beyond the probation period - Apprenticeship Children and Young People Workforce Level 3
