Racial Harassment Advisor

The role of Racial Harassment Advisor is a brand-new position being established at the University of Cambridge as part of a growing Student Harassment and Violence Support Service.

In the first instance, the role-holder will be expected to work closely with the Head of the Harassment and Violence Support Service to consult on, design and establish the Racial Harassment Support Service.

As well as one-to-one support to students, the role holder will act as a source of expert advice and guidance to staff members supporting students and will provide training to staff across the collegiate University.

Utilising excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the role holder will have a warm and empathetic style and an ability to build trust and credibility with students and the staff supporting them. Emotional resilience, establishing clear boundaries and the ability to work calmly under pressure will also be key attributes of the role. Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of working within a Higher Education setting would be beneficial but is not essential. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to establish and deliver a new service within a warm, friendly team.
