**APCL Group, Tactical Buyer - North East**

Our Tactical Buyer plays a crucial role as the on-site presence overseeing materials and stores procurement for A&P North East.

We're looking for someone who can ensure the seamless flow of resources for our projects within the two facilities on the Tyneside and Teesside.

It's a great opportunity for Buyer looking for a fresh challenge with the level of responsibility that comes within a site based, project focussed business.

**So what will you do?**
- You'll be collaborating with various stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers required for fabrication and marine projects
- Negotiating with suppliers, you'll secure favourable terms, including cost and delivery while maintaining high-quality standards
- You'll build strong relationships with suppliers and address any performance issues
- With Stores you'll monitor inventory levels optimise stock levels for efficient project execution
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new technologies in the sector to make informed purchasing decisions
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant quality standards, laws, regulations, and company policies

**And what are we looking for?**
- Ideally CIPS qualification (or equivalent), with a track record of getting things done in a project based, safety critical engineering environment
- Passion for optimising procurement processes
- A background in marine, renewables, energy, subsea, aerospace, defence, construction or other associated engineering disciplines would be good
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management in a management or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, supplier management, and negotiation techniques
- Leadership, team management, detail oriented, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skill and ability
- Great communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
