**Are you a highly motivated and organised individual with excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills? Do you have experience in a medical office setting? If so, we are looking for you**
**The responsibilities of the medical secretary will include**:
- Answering telephone calls and providing information to patients and staff
- Scheduling appointments and managing patient calendars
- Maintaining patient electronic records and filing systems
- To generate pre-appointment forms for patients and ensure return receipt prior to the appointment with the consultant.
- Processing prescriptions generated by consultants and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain prescription record log
- Generate invoices for private patients and ensure payment in advance of their booked appointment.
- Liaising with patients, pharmacies and GPs
- To be aware and operate within NHS and legal requirements to maintain patient and data confidentiality.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient records
**Qualifications**:
- GCSE Maths and English (C or above)
**Experience**:
- Experience of administrative duties
- A minimum of one year experience working in a health care setting as a medical secretary or receptionist.
**Skills**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clear and polite telephone manner
- Excellent time management (Planning and Organising)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to follow policy and procedure

**Work Environment**:
- Remote work environment with occasional attendance face to face in the clinic.
- To work between the hours of 1pm to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and answer phone calls to Jacobs Clinic during the hours of 9am to 1pm (for an additional payment).
- Attend Jacobs Clinic meetings as required.
