The course commences in January 2023. This is a fulltime course consisting of a blend of study blocks at the University of West England in Bristol and clinical placement, based in the Antenatal Clinic at Derriford Hospital. The qualification will take a year to complete. Following successful completion, you will undertake a 6 month full time preceptorship programme before progressing to band 7. As this is a fully funded opportunity to gain this professional qualification, there is an expectation that you will work in the Department, as an Obstetric Sonographer/Midwife Obstetric Sonographer for at least three years.

Day to day, you will be working will be in the antenatal department working with the obstetric sonographers, undertaking ultrasound scans that include: dating, growth and anomaly scans, you will also gain ultrasound experience in the Early Pregnancy Unit.
