We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. - Have recent working experience of working in children’s services (either via Local Government or as an external provider), with experience in working with young people with SEND
- Have strong skills to build effective professional relationships with parents, children, young people and colleagues
- Be able to work flexibly and independently across a wide geographical area to include (but not limited to) Kingston & Richmond boroughs.

**This is a part time (30 hours a week) role. Salary advertised will be calculated pro-rata.**

About the role

In this role, you will be working alongside families, schools and other settings and services to train young people in how to get to and from school independently. In this role, you will complete assessments for young people to gauge their ability levels and to create a bespoke training program for them, following an accredited training program to provide one on one training, in addition to offering virtual training sessions and attending schools to deliver classroom based training sessions for small groups.

In this role you will work cohesively within AfC, to ensure that young people’s progress is accurately monitored, but also autonomously with schools and families to explore individual solutions to meet the needs of the young people you will be training.

Achieving for Children will provide you with the accredited training which you will require within the role. Working alongside the SEND Transport team, who provide services for approximately 720 children and young people across Kingston & Richmond, you will work to identify, assess, support and train young people who may be ready to take this important step towards independence, engaging also with our key stakeholders to build strong relationships within these provisions.

About you

You will have a strong work ethic and high attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that standards are met, and you are working to the accredited travel training program while building on the culture of improvement. You will be quick to identify any areas which may require targeted learning for specific individuals and be the gateway for young people to make the important transition to independence safely, only signing-off young people from the training once they have met all required milestones.

You will be an excellent communicator across several teams within AfC, schools, families and both councils, contributing to any decisions for the travel training service.
