**Technologist - Risk and Compliance**
£32,000 to £47,000 plus benefits, including a company car (Work Level 6A)

We’re looking for a Technologist to join our food brand team and help us make sure that our own label products are always fully safe, legal, and compliant. You’ll proactively look at ingredient risk by daily horizon scanning and supporting the team by making sure we mitigate any risk to our fantastic products.

We’ll look to you to proactively manage our Co-op systems and procedures, surveillance and process compliance supporting continuous improvement. **What you’ll do**
- Drive the risk framework, which supports the key risks in Technical to make sure we mitigate any risk to our products
- Make sure all key partners are aware of any risks and appropriate communication is delivered
- Complete daily management of reviewing horizon scanning tools making sure any intelligence is communicated and risk assessed
- Manage our surveillance system, by driving compliance to quality, safety, legal and processes, sharing the results of these with internal and external partners, and pro-actively addressing areas of improvement
- Conduct ongoing assessment of the supply base to make sure we use suppliers whose competencies, capability, capacity, and alignment with our policy requirements meet or exceed customer expectations
- Work collaboratively with the category team to support on risk and compliance
- Share expertise and identify solutions that drive innovation in the Technical Services Team, and improvements in product quality, safety, and legality
- Support and manage our Co-op systems, making sure they’re running efficiently and are optimum for both our suppliers and team

**This role would suit people who have**
- A food tech degree, or equivalent technical experience with a retailer or manufacturer
- An understanding of the operational side of food retail
- Excellent people and networking skills
- Strong communication, ability to manage projects, and influencing skills
- A co-operative and collaborative approach
