**So. What is this role exactly?**

This is an exciting, opportunity for a Head of Finance with a strong background in leading transactional and transformational teams, to join YHG as our Head of Finance - Transactions and Improvement.

This is a newly created role, due purely to growth and evolution within our finance team and one of our Chief Financial Officer’s senior direct reports. As one of the key senior leaders within the finance function, you will work in partnership with the CFO and other Heads of Finance to continue to develop our finance service into a high performing, best in class team.

**We are looking for a senior finance professional, **able to both lead the transactional accounts payable and receivable teams, set the standards and deliverables in regard to performance measures and improvements and act as our absolute SME in regard to finance transformation and systems projects throughout the wider finance function. This role will be instrumental in leading the finance improvement programme for the organisation.

**What will I be responsible for doing?**

First and foremost, you will form a strong partnership with our newly appointed CFO, to work alongside the other Heads of Finance to build and lead a finance function that has the capability through its systems and processes to effectively report and utilise both qualitative and quantitative financial data to drive organisational performance and decision-making.

Managing the transactional and improvement teams, you’ll understand how these functions operate, and be their conduit to the CFO, giving assurance that the finance improvement plan is progressing on track to successful delivery. You will be confident understanding financial transactions and reporting to identify where the issues are and provide solutions for the business.

To be successful as our new **Head of Finance - Transactions and Improvements**, you will be a confident decision maker, a leader of people, and a strong influencer. This role will be key to providing assurance to key internal and external stakeholders, so it’s imperative you have a natural flair for working closely with and engaging non-financial colleagues. A thorough understanding of systems, interfaces and automation is key as is forging strong relationships with our ICT and Business Change team.

This role is ideally suited to someone who’s exceptional at building and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships, experienced in contributing to the development and enabling the delivery of the vision, ensuring full understanding, and engagement with these senior stakeholders and the teams they lead.
