Great Wenham, United Kingdom Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council Full time

**Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils**are currently looking for an **Electrician**to join our team in **Great Wenham.**You will join us on a **full time, permanent**basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£31,615 per annum,**plus Tool Allowance and Part P payments (pro rata for part time).

Full time, part time and job share opportunities will be considered.

**About the Electrician role**:
Your role will involve installation, responsive maintenance, fault finding and inspection and testing, therefore demonstrable experience of these activities is essential for a range of property types with specific regard to housing, blocks of accommodation,sheltered homes and some light commercial.

We are looking for an Electrician with a 'can do' attitude and enthusiasm for the job. You will possess a sound knowledge of electrical components and materials with an awareness of other building trades, and the skill set to deliver a range of multi-skilledactivities whilst observing applicable building regulations and health and safety requirements.

You may need to carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that's outside core trade.

There may sometimes be the requirement to work outside of normal business hours to provide emergency repairs to our customers, therefore a flexible approach to work is essential.

**About you**:
You will have gained NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical engineering or building services related discipline and will demonstrate experience in:

- Electrical installation work
- Fault finding and repairing on mainly single phase 230v and 3 phase 400v
- Inspection and testing - carrying out fixed wiring tests and completion of certification both domestic and commercial
- Experience in servicing of fire alarms and emergency lighting which include conventional and addressable systems
- Fault finding on both conventional and addressable fire alarms
- To observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times in particular those relating to the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations Electricity at work act
- Work as part of a multi-skilled team providing an efficient estates service
- Reviewing and writing POWRA or understanding/working with standard risk assessments
- Good understanding of compliance and best practice of Health and Safety
- General understanding of BS 5839 (Fire regs) and BS 5266 (Emergency lighting).
- You will need to have a full UK driving licence.
