TDK is a supplier to some of the most diverse, technology based and original equipment manufacturers worldwide including global organisations within the Industrial, Medical and Test & Measurement markets. This position is based at our European head office and manufacturing centre in Ilfracombe, on the beautiful Devonshire coastline in the South West of England.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Toolmaker to join our team within the Toolroom at TDK. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for learning and a keen interest in developing practical toolmaking skills, following an Engineering Trust Apprenticeship program that will train you with the necessary skills to support TDK's manufacturing operations.

**Key Responsibilities**: As an Apprentice Toolmaker, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Manufacturing Jigs, Fixtures and gauges.
- Assembly and fitting of tooling.
- Learning to interpret and follow engineering drawings.
- Gaining proficiency in using measurement instruments to verify tooling dimensions.
- Providing support with tooling TPM activities.
- Acquiring the skills to program CNC machinery.
- Ensuring all work meets TDK's high-quality standards.
- Generate CAD models, collaborating with the Industrial Engineers and MED Engineers.

- Effective time management and task prioritisation, clear communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to challenges.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
- Skill in interpreting technical drawings and translating them into practical work.
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to tasks.

Course: EAL L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Mechanical) (day release at Petroc) - 24 - 30 months.

**Hours of work (37.50 hour week)**:

- Monday to Thursday 07.45-16:30
- Friday 07.30-12:15
