Streetscene Inspector

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Streetscene Inspector to work in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £14.17 (PAYE) or £16.93 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.

**The role**:
To monitor, inspect and oversee all highway related maintenance activities within a geographical area.
This includes inspecting the highway, identifying recording, and prioritising the repair of defects in accordance with Departmental standards Identifying maintenance schemes for inclusion in the forward works programme.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out systematic regular inspection of the highway (including public rights of way) to identify and record defects and prioritise repairs. Whilst being in the local area acting as the NCC representative and responding to challenges/queries, showing an understanding of the issues and dealing with them effectively, diffusing conflict and minimising the need for issues to be escalated or taken back to locality.
- Prepare works orders as required to maintain the highway.
- Responding to complaints, showing an understanding of relevant issues. In liaison with other staff to respond to insurance claims, including representing the Authority in court.
- Respond to queries and complaints from members of the public, Town & Parish Councils, and other local stakeholders. Liaise with and support other staff to respond to more difficult complaints.
- Participate in area response to emergency situations, including winter service.
- Liaise with the General Public, Parishes, Town Councils, other bodies in order to resolve highway maintenance issues. Visit businesses, where required, to resolve highway issues or explain and negotiate a satisfactory outcome.

- **Qualifications**: N/A.
- **Experience**: 2+ years working within a similar role.
- **Compliance**: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references.
- **Travel**: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**: 37.5 hours p/w.
