**School Caretaker**

**Location**: Gateshead (NE8)

**Hours**: Full-time or Part-time (School is flexible on hours)

**Preferred Hours**:

- **Part-time Option 1**: 20 hours per week - 2pm to 6pm every afternoon.
- **Part-time Option 2**: 20 hours per week - 7:30am to 11:30am every morning.
- **Full-time Option 1**: Split shift (mornings and afternoons to be arranged).
- **Full-time Option 2**: 9am to 5pm.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Opening and closing the school buildings as required.
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Overseeing security procedures and monitoring access to the premises.
- Assisting with setting up for events and activities as needed.
- Performing routine inspections to identify any health and safety hazards.
- Responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents on the premises.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities management role preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work varying hours based on the school's needs.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
